What You’ll Find
In this travel blog, as a writer and photographer I share the adventures and insights that I’ve encountered travelling both near and far from home. They say the catch about pulling up stakes and going somewhere new is that for better or worse wherever you go you bring yourself along. On my travels I’m thankful for being able to bring along my inquisitive nature and ability to see the best in things that together give my blog a theme of continual adventure.
Drawing from Other Artists
Choosing to define the world around us in a positive light is a creative exercise and I enjoy finding new ways to do so because I’m a creative at heart. As a creative I’m always interested in not only my own perceptions but in the work of other artists I encounter wherever I go. This interest makes it inevitable that some of what I share in this blog is inspired by the works of other artists, among which some works are cutting edge and define the way the viewer looks at the world around him.
Focus on People
As a traveler I keep my eye open for adventures of all sizes. Often all it takes to turn a routine daily outing into an uncommon adventure is the added spice of an engaging personal story. By my immediate gut reaction to a compelling story as opposed to my frequent lack of reaction to scenery, I recognize that for me people’s personal stories best give meaning to the world around us. Buildings, monuments, even natural wonders like breathtaking waterfalls, are more meaningful to me when there is a story to attach a person to them. For this reason, when taking pictures to capture memories of a place you will most always see actual people in my photos, and the photos will use the moods of those human faces, and the expression of their postures, to tell the story.

My kids brave the excitement of the ominous clouds and surging tide to look for rocks and coral too special to leave behind.
Collection of Stories and Insights
This habit of focusing on people is distinctly different from many travelers I see who set out to take mainly photos of landscapes alone. And it even affects how I travel. Because the human perspective is so important to me I’m driven to meet not only other tourists while travelling, but also locals, both of whom I like to meet to discover their stories. So on I travel with a soul open to creativity and an ear for a good tale. I write this blog to share those tales with my fellow adventurers and to reveal the creative works I discover to others who travel with a bit of the artist in them or with an appreciation of the arts. For you artists, art lovers, and adventurers, this blog is a collection of encounters with all the creative souls that have left their impression on me, and all the stories that have added adventure along the way.
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I really have enjoyed your well-written articles. I have bookmarked this site and will definitely be checking back for new posts.
